Whether you decided to opt out of the Black Friday madness this year or to jump in with both feet the big question remains—is there a way to simplify Christmas?
We think so. Renting a storage unit during the holidays can certainly alleviate the stress created by not having enough space in your home to hide oversized gifts, entertain friends, or accommodate out of town guests.
You don’t have to worry about long-term financial commitments either; many storage facilities offer flexible short-term leasing options during the holidays to meet the temporary storage needs of families and businesses just like yours.
Is your car like a second home? For many people, the answer is a resounding yes. Our cars are the place we can practice singing like Adele or croon like Chris Martin. Cars also serve as a respite from the kids, the hustle and bustle of work, and if the volume on the radio is loud enough traffic noise.
If the cars in your family start to outnumber the spaces in your garage, and you need to find additional parking, look for desirable car storage options before parking your extra car at the nearest self storage facility. Continue reading “Car Storage: How to Prep your Vehicle”
Big city apartments are usually high on costs and short on space, especially in terms of storage space such as closets and cabinets. The trend towards smaller apartments in New York is growing so rapidly that modular micro-apartments ranging anywhere from 260 to 360 square feet are now being prefabricated in Brooklyn, NY. A 45-minute subway ride from Midtown Manhattan, Sheepshead Bay is experiencing a mini-housing boom. Nearby, is Brighton Beach, which is home to colonies of tiny Brooklyn Bungalows.
While the idea of living in a minute amount of space may come as a shock to most, for many New Yorkers, a self storage unit often serves as a second home.
Is it really that time of year again? Yes! Christmas is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to figure out where to shop and what gifts to give. As the bags and boxes start piling up, you might start wondering how and where to hide them from prying eyes and fingers. The answer? A storage unit! You can rent one for cheaper than you might imagine.

Deciding between climate controlled and non climate controlled storage units is easier when you answer these three questions:
- 1. What items are you planning to store?
- 2. How long do you plan to store these items?
- 3. Is your storage location in a region with extreme temperatures?
I recently put everything I owned into storage after relocating to a city where the temperature gauge frequently dips below freezing during the coldest months of the year. I knew my items would be in storage for at least one full winter, possibly two, and that I was storing family heirlooms, artwork, dozens of books, and hundreds of photographs. So the answer to the question, “Do I need climate controlled storage?” was a resounding yes. Like many people, I assumed that climate controlled storage units would cost too much. However, I quickly realized that the benefits of keeping my valued belongings safe throughout the seasons (whether bitter cold or scorching hot) outweighed any additional storage costs in the long run.
